Description
Contemporary bowing techniques are explored in this spooky piece. “Sul ponticello”, “Bartok pizzicato”, “sul tasto”, “tremolo” and Psycho-style glissandi combine to make this work one which is sure to be a student and audience favourite. It is quite simple in rhythm, but because it is in D Minor, the key is more challenging for the students. Late in 2008, I myself suffered a “spine-chilling” ruptured disc. I would like to dedicate this piece to Dr. Bruce Hall, whose generosity and care was truly above and beyond – and will be eternally appreciated.
