Description

This delightful piece is all about rhythm! Quavers and semiquavers are used in different combinations and bowing which teaches good co-ordination and clean articulation is reinforced. Quick retakes are required to commence new phrases, but the tempo can be taken very steadily until the rhythms are able to be read easily by the students. Practise the different “fruit salad” rhythms by playing simple scales while saying “watermelon, strawberry, mango and passionfruit”. Yum! I would like to dedicate this piece to my first Grandchild, who is due in May 2009. She will be a wonderful mix of Australian, Italian, French, Swiss, Scottish, and Irish heritage – a beautiful little bowl of fruit salad herself!
